Privacy
RemoteBar collects nothing. There is no account, no server of ours to talk to, and no analytics.
What stays on your Mac
- Device pairing credentials — stored in your macOS Keychain, used only to talk to your own devices.
- Preferences — which devices you've hidden, volume steps, and similar settings, in the app's own storage.
- The automation token — generated on your Mac if you turn the automation endpoint on.
What leaves your Mac
Only the commands you issue, sent directly to the Apple TV, HomePod or Sonos on your local network. RemoteBar discovers devices with Bonjour and speaks to them over your own network. Nothing is routed through a service we run.
Automation and AI assistants
The local automation endpoint (MCP) is off
until you switch it on. When enabled it listens only on 127.0.0.1 — your own
machine — and requires a bearer token that lives in the app. If you connect an AI
assistant, what that assistant does with your requests is governed by its own privacy
policy, not this one.
Purchases
In-app purchases are handled by Apple. We receive no payment details, only the entitlement status Apple reports to the app.
Children
RemoteBar is not directed at children and collects no personal information from anyone.
